Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Term two had a start full steam on with various programs, events and activities. There will be another busy term. Here, I would like to thank in advance to our all teachers, students and parent for their valuable efforts and contributions.

The second and the third week of the term, Parent-Teacher Interviews (PTI)were held. Our parents had a chance to see their children(s) teachers and evaluate their academic and behavioural performances. They also had chance to learn and discuss about the new reporting format. If you were not available to attend the PTI, you may request an appointment with our teachers upon their availabilities.

Our year 4, year 5 and year 6 students had their camps in three different YMCA sites. Our students attended various activities during the camps to improve their friendships and develop life skills such as confidence, taking responsibility and helping others. Camps are great experiences for them to understand that living together with different people in the same environment requires skill, patience and sacrifice. I believe that our students enjoyed and learnt a lot from these camps. Thank you to our teachers for spending their time away from their families, and for all their effort and dedication.

Around the end of the term 1, we were all shocked at the horrific, unprecedented act of terror that took place in NZ. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of NZ, particularly the Muslim community. This horrendous mass shooting has reminded us of how significant a role we have as educators in society. We are all united in grief. My thoughts are with all those who have lost family and friends. Stay strong, New Zealand and Australia!

According to Islamic belief, the sultan of eleven-month, Ramadan, finally came last week. Our Pastoral Care department has organised many home iftar with our parents. In house iftars, our students and teachers are hosted by our parents where they break their fast together. I would like to thank the Pastoral Care department for their initiatives and our parents for their hospitalities.

I hope we all have a blessed and peaceful Ramadan
